User Interface Design Engineer, Dipl. Computer Scientist (FH)

Florian Moritz is devoted to compelling user interfaces. He studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Kaiserslautern and possesses substantiated skills concerning the development of websites and Rich Internet Applications (RIA). His thesis focussed on the convergence of web and desktop concepts to Rich Internet Applications in a user interface context. Furthermore, his strengths are located in the fields of conception and design of GUIs and touch screen HMIs, prototyping, icon design and styling and development of Silverlight/WPF applications.

Patrick Decker

Patrick Decker

Software Engineer, Dipl. Informatiker (FH)

Patrick Decker completed the degree of Applied Sciences with distinction at the University of Applied Sciences in Trier. Before he started working as a GUI developer, he was involved in the implementation of a Java-based renderer for XML, which implements the CSS 2.1 Standard of W3C. He was also engaged in the creation of a well-known German game. At Centigrade his main focus lies on the development of Java Swing GUI components and screens using the presentation model approach.

David Patrizi

David Patrizi

User Interface Designer, Bachelor of Computer Science and Media

David holds a bachelor's degree in computer science in media at the University of Furtwangen. His thesis dealt with the graphical design of an interactive menu for mobile phones. As a user interface designer, David Patrizi is primarily responsible for the conception and design of high-quality icons. He gained experience in the field of design during his time as a web designer at Nintendo Europe and also a social community platform.

Jenny Gemmell

Jenny Gemmell

User Interface Designer, Bachelor of Computer Science and Media

Jenny engages herself in creating modern and asthetically appealing user interfaces and icons, advocating a constant sense for usability and user experience. While completing her studies of Applied Cognitive and Media Science her thesis dealt with designing peripheral awareness artefacts within a social network system for the elderly. Again focusing on both perfection of detail and the big picture Jenny broadened her skills by working on mobile platform applications. Her passion and strengths now lie in the field of digital and visual design.

Alexander Keller

Alexander Keller

User Interface Design Engineer, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Media

Alexander Keller completed his studies in Media Informatics at the Fachhochschule Kaiserslautern. In his bachelor thesis, he dealt with the conception and implementation of an Expression Blend Plugin to visualize input scenarios on touch devices. As a User Interface Design Engineer, his main assignment at Centigrade consists in realizing high-quality Screen Designs and interactive prototypes in the fields of Silverlight and WPF with Expression Blend. He thus works at the intersection of User Interface Design and User Interface Development.

Tobias Gölzer

René Liesefeld

René Liesefeld

Cognitive Engineer, Dipl. Psychologist

René Liesefeld's work at Centigrade is concerned with information architecture and interaction design. In order to optimize the interaction between software and user a thorough analysis of the software's informational content and the user's behavior is indispensible. Based on such analyses the user interface can be designed as to allow the user to intuitively acquire the skills for a fast and error-free interaction with the software. René Liesefeld's goal is to adapt the user interface to the cognitive abilities of the user instead of forcing the user into the resource-consuming and error-prone process of adapting to the user interface. He will shortly have finished his PhD thesis in Cognitive Neuropsychology on the encoding, maintenance and processing of spatial information and its neuronal bases.
