Centigrade-designed GUI goes live at Middle East Electricity 2010 in Dubai

Centigrade is pleased to announce that significant outcomes of the company’s collaboration with OMICRON electronics will be presented at the Middle East Electricity in Dubai, a trade show that was rated by visitors and exhibitors as being the world-leading energy event of its kind.
Centigrade was responsible for the user interface design of OMICRON’s innovative CMControl product, an embedded device for conducting power tests with a remarkably easy to use touch screen GUI. Thomas Immich, Managing Director at Centigrade: “What made this project so special is that ease of use was one of OMICRON’s key goals right from the start. In this regard, we were able to apply our methods for improving the user experience of the product with almost no restriction. And I am certain that this is what visitors are going to experience when they use the system for the first time.” Stefan Schwabe, Product Manager at OMICRON electronics: “Designing the product using a well-defined usability process definitely helps making the product better and it gives you the confidence that the product meets the customer’s demands. Centigrade was a perfect match for us in respect to their great designs and their professional way of working.”
In addition to conceiving the product’s user interface design, Centigrade supported the implementation process by providing the designated software development team with valuable assets such as Cascading Stylesheets (CSS) that could be immediately integrated into the Qt-based application code.
The Middle East Electricity in Dubai will take place Tuesday 9 – Thursday 11 February 2010. OMICRON’s CMControl can be experienced in Hall 1, Booth No. 1G20.
