Centigrade announced the release of the new version of the stock icon store Icon Book.
The new version of Icon Book now allows in-app icon shopping and convenient management of purchased icons. Purchased icons will be automatically unlocked in the application, so that they can be directly accessed as PNG or Windows® compatible ICO files. In addition, Icon Book is now also available for the Mac.
As every icon is equipped with a set of expressive metadata, it allows customers to quickly find the required icon for a specific context, this way being able to easily decide whether it makes sense to purchase an icon or, in case an icon is already purchased, to instantly make use of it.
Thomas Immich, Managing Director Centigrade GmbH: “Sometimes it can be difficult to find this one single icon that is needed to represent a certain application feature or function. While some people tend to search an icon according to its metaphor – e.g. “a document with a spark” – other people search more in terms of the functionality the icon should represent, such as “Create new file”. With Icon Book, both search phrases will lead to the same reasonable match – which makes it very intuitive for users to browse and actually find icons.”
Icon Book comes equipped with a stock icon library, the FlareSeries, which is characterized by its vibrant colors, crisp outlines and distinct sense for lovely details. Thomas Immich: “The FlareSeries stock icon library looks great in a Windows® 7 environment and contains 300 ready-made icons for the business application context.”
The new version of Icon Book can be started and used free of charge on the company’s official website.
