What good is a generic stock icon library with a vast count of 1000 icons if your application domain is rather specific? You might still end up missing several icons that are required to intuitively express your application’s functionality. At Centigrade, we take special care addressing this recurring issue. First, we keep our stock icons modular as far as possible. The clear visual separation of a base icon and a special overlay allows us to create dozens of icon variations for special purposes in almost no time. Second, we individually create any missing icon for you – just like we do within our well-established custom icon design services. Icon Book comes with our Windows 7 stock icon library FlareSeries. Vibrant colors, crisp outlines and a distinct sense for lovely details are the ingredients for this new stock icon series. The intentional omission of perspective effects in favor of straight lines makes the icons perfectly compliant with the Windows Vista and Windows 7 icon guidelines for ribbons, toolbars, trees and menus and very well recognizable even at small sizes. The individual icon metaphors were chosen with business-related applications, such as ERP, CRM or BPM systems, in mind . For your convenience, we organized these icons into semantic collections that you can quickly browse in Icon Book.

Variety in format and sizes

To be prepared for a broad palette of usage scenarios, we ship our stock icons in various sizes and file formats. By default, icons come in three sizes at 48x48, 32x32 and 16x16 pixels either as individual PNG files or packed into one single ICO file for direct use in Windows-based applications. According to today’s standards, our icons come in 24 bit color depth and 8 bit alpha channel for transparency effects. However, in case you require formats such as GIF or BMP with a solid background color or lower color depths, we can individually adapt the stock icons to your requirements.
