At the Automatisierungstreff 2015 visitors and exhibitors – including Centigrade – discuss the present and future of automated manufacturing processes.
The concept of “Connected Industry“ or “Industry 4.0“ is going to be one of the main topics during the fair taking place in the convention hall of Böblingen from March 24th to March 26th. It implies a field of tension that results from new ideas like the Internet of Things being implemented into existing industrial manufacturing processes.

On the occasion of her sight-seeing tour of innovative companies from Muelheim, mayor Dagmar Muehlenfeld visited the North-West branch of Centigrade at Monday, 29th of July. She was accompanied by Thomas Mueller from the Muelheim & Business GmbH business development team. Branch manager Joerg Niesenhaus informed Mrs. Muehlenfeld about the activities and the growth of the branch, which moved to a larger office space in the Games Factory in April. Joerg Niesenhaus delivered insight in the area of user interface design and expressed particular praise for the business location Muelheim: “We really appreciate the central location of Muelheim and the proximity to the large scale industry, which already makes up a large percentage of the project requests we receive.”
Questions regarding education and training were discussed as well and Mrs. Muehlenfeld was pleased to hear that the University Ruhr West and Centigrade are heading for a cooperation in the area of teaching.
Centigrade is opening its third office in Frankfurt am Main in September.
Together with its head office in Saarbrücken and the office in Mülheim an der Ruhr Centigrade now holds presences in southwestern, northwestern and central Germany.
OMICRON, a long-standing customer of Centigrade has released RelayLabTest, an innovative desktop-based software to test protection devices. RelayLabTest enables users to simulate entire power networks in order to achieve most realistic operating conditions. The software already complies with the requirements of the future standard IEC 60255-121 for distance protection devices. Centigrade supported OMICRON during the entire user interface design and engineering process of the WPF-based user interface from start to end.

The software experts of Berner & Mattner Systemtechnik GmbH and the UI design specialists of Centigrade GmbH intensify their cooperation in the area of innovative touch interface software solutions. With their cooperation, they support manufacturers of machinery and plants to improve functionality and ease of use of human machine interfaces through modern touch-sensitive interfaces. In doing so, customers increase the attractiveness of their products and significantly reduce costs of errors, support and training. Both companies have established an integrated procedure model and a special infrastructure consisting of state-of-the-art development methods and tools for effective development of human machine interface solutions. The first success of the cooperation is an operating terminal, developed in cooperation with OMICRON electronics, which has been presented with the iF communication design award for outstanding product design.
From February 2nd to 5th 2011 the sixth Servoy World international conference will take place in Amsterdam, informing about latest topics in user interface oriented rapid application development. Centigrade will participate as an exhibitor and the company’s CEO Thomas Immich will give a conference session on building sexy user interfaces. The session is scheduled for February 4th.
