This year’s HCI International takes place in Las Vegas from 21.07. to 26.07. The conference objective is to provide an international forum for scientific exchange in the domain of Human-Computer Interaction. In this context, theoretical and applied aspects of Cognitive Ergonomics, Virtual and Mixed Reality, Online Communities, Social Computing and Human Centered Design are discussed.
Martin Hesseler, interaction designer at Centigrade, participates in the conference with a paper and presentation on Trust Assurances and online trust. During a study, an instrument for eliciting trust during online transactions has been developed and was subsequently employed in an experiment. The experiment aimed at examining the influence of “quality seals” on users and their behavior.
Martin Hesseler: “E-Commerce is becoming more and more ubiquitous. When commercial transactions are conducted online, the issue of trust gains importance. Therefore, tools for assessing this online trust have to be developed and factors that influence it have to be identified. With our work, my co-authors and I want to contribute to this effort.”
