Jörg Niesenhaus kicks-off HCI lecture series at University of Würzburg with talk about gamification and UX
Early in April, Dr. Jörg Niesenhaus (Centigrade Branch Manager Mülheim) was invited to Gabe Zichermann’s „Gamification Revolution Show“ as a guest and expert. The webinar was about Gamification in the context of industrial production and can now be watched on Gamification.co.
Together with Gabe Zichermann and the participants of the show Jörg Niesenhaus discussed the opportunities and challenges of using gamified elements in an industrial context. By referring to real-life examples he explained how Gamification contributed to strenghtening the cohesion within the team, improving information exchanges and increasing the overall performance of the production process.

Lowering operating costs by using the Oculus Rift? Centigrade provides a surprising VR demo at the Automatisierungstreff
At the Automatisierungstreff 2015 visitors and exhibitors – including Centigrade – discuss the present and future of automated manufacturing processes.
The concept of “Connected Industry“ or “Industry 4.0“ is going to be one of the main topics during the fair taking place in the convention hall of Böblingen from March 24th to March 26th. It implies a field of tension that results from new ideas like the Internet of Things being implemented into existing industrial manufacturing processes.
Since October 2014, several new employees joined the Centigrade team. This will be followed by an expansion of the office premises: In addition to the 10th floor of Science Park 2, the staff in Saarbrücken will also have the 9th floor at their disposal.
Thomas Immich, Managing Director: “Our company’s continuous growth is reflected by the fact that we recruited six new team members over the last few months.
Now, by creating a bigger workspace, we are able to live up to our high work environment standards and provide an enjoyable workplace for everyone at Centigrade. Amongst other improvements, we plan on creating a silent room, which our employees can use whenever they need to focus completely on a subject.
With the new premises we make sure to keep meeting the growing demand for our services.”
In 2015, as in previous years, Centigrade supports German UPA as official sponsor. German UPA is the professional association for usability and user experience whose members deal with the user-friendly design of human-technology-interaction.
Dr. Markus Weber, Head of Usability Engineering at Centigrade: “German UPA offers a wide range of information and activities regarding usability and user experience. Since those topics are at the core of our services at Centigrade, it is a pleasure to support the professional association in developing the field and making it visible to the public.”
In its company blog Centigrade publishes articles on current trends and insights in the fields of usability and user experience.
