Welcome to release v2026.02!
Quiz question: What’s better than two?
That’s right: three!
3D visualizations are a great way to make boring data more engaging. They help us understand complex systems, make processes transparent, and reach informed decisions faster, whether in industry, building management, or healthcare. Above all, they look really cool 🤓
In this newsletter, we show how immersive technologies such as augmented reality and interactive 3D models create real value.

Success story of the month
Augmented reality in Industry 4.0 – how AR makes factory floors smarter
AR, VR, and MR have long inspired big expectations. But how can these technologies be integrated into everyday industrial work? Together with Festo, Centigrade explored this question and developed a forward-looking operating concept. Within a virtual reality setup, we created an AR scenario showing how shift supervisors can efficiently monitor and control machines on the factory floor.
With AR glasses, current status, progress, and potential errors can be visualized directly in the space around each machine. It’s also possible to intervene in ongoing operations or fix errors: quickly, intuitively, and in context.

From CAD model to interactive 3D visualization – standardization as the key to efficiency
In many industrial projects, machine CAD data already exists, but it’s often used only for the design process. Yet it has far more potential: with very little extra effort, it can be turned into interactive 3D visualizations that bring machines, equipment, or entire buildings to life, including their states, error paths, and interactions.
In her new article, our software developer Julia walks through practical examples, explains how we use formats such as GLB and tools such as Blender, Angular, and Three.js, and shows why a reusable process makes a big difference to scalability and efficiency.
Event
Centigrade at the “AI in Medicine” symposium
Our colleague and Lead Concept Designer Daniel attended the two-day “AI in Medicine” symposium, organized by Health.AI Hub. The event brought together experts from medicine, research, and technology, offering practical insights into the current use of AI in healthcare.
It focused on real-world applications, from diagnostics and clinical processes to decision support in medicine.
Fun fact
The classic 3D glasses are ancient
Did you know that the red-green 3D glasses, familiar to everyone except perhaps Gen Alpha, were invented back in 1853? It’s even more surprising that they were still being used into the early 2000s.
