Balancing quality management with time for patients

Time is a key cost factor in everyday hospital life – but also a key success factor. How can the demands of quality management be better reconciled with the time needed to care for patients? This was the question Dr. Sperber, senior physician at the Department of General, Visceral and Thoracic Surgery at Klinikum Saarbrücken, brought to Centigrade.

Instead of the classic clipboard, we developed a digital app solution with a redesigned questionnaire that clearly splits tasks between the doctor and patient roles.

From product concept to testable prototype

To implement this project idea, Centigrade created a screen design and a prototype that allowed Dr. Sperber to visualize and test his product concept at an early project stage.

Two perspectives: patient and doctor

The questionnaire was split into two dedicated views: patients complete their part independently on a tablet, while doctors add their professional assessments in a separate view. This clearly divides time and professional responsibility between both roles.
