Award-winning HMI Design System
At the heart of mechanical engineering lies the Human Machine Interface (HMI), the crucial interface between man and machine. HMIs allow us to interact with and precisely control machines, whether through screens, keyboards or touch elements.
In an ever-evolving world with increasingly diverse machines and use cases, the challenge of developing suitable HMIs becomes all the more significant. Although standard solutions can be tempting, they carry the risk of operating errors, wasted materials and production downtime due to the complex machine functions.
In close partnership with TRUMPF, we have developed the multiple award-winning Touchpoint Design System. It forms the core of a robust HMI platform that has already successfully implemented numerous operator interfaces for various machine types such as bending, laser and punching machines.
Many machines, many applications, one interface
Despite the large number of machines used in industrial production, standard solutions are often used. Trumpf machines, on the other hand, should be individual and intuitive to operate, regardless of machine type. To meet this challenge, we designed Touchpoint from the ground up, with a flexible interface and consistent logic. The requirements of each individual machine are taken into account, while the operation remains the same for all machines.
Mobile teaching via tablet
In teaching, users set up the machine's process and teach it certain procedures. Touchpoint can also be used for this - in the case of teaching, even mobile on the tablet.
Familiar and intuitive operation
Touchpoint's interface can be easily operated using familiar gestures such as pinch-to-zoom to create the most intuitive and interactive user experience possible. Sliding numpads and on-screen keyboards allow inputs to be made where they are needed. 3D models can be viewed from all angles using simple swipe gestures. A two-finger tap can also be used to call up an operating aid at any time.
Award-winning design
Touchpoint is characterised by its wide applicability: It is used in different adaptations on functionally different machine types. At the same time, it maintains a consistent information architecture, visual design and interaction concept.
As a result, the Touchpoint Design System has won several design awards. We are proud to look back on a long and successful cooperation with TRUMPF and are looking forward to further collaborations!
