MEDICA, one of the world’s largest B2B medical trade fairs, is just around the corner. For more than 40 years it has been a fixed date in the calendar of all professionals. With several thousand exhibitors from almost 70 nations, MEDICA is the world’s largest medical trade fair, and after our award-winning collaboration with laboratory equipment manufacturer Tecan Group AG, we have all the more reason to be there again this year!
In October 2023, our Tecan MAPlinx™ UI Template project won the IUX Award. The software supports laboratory staff with improved user guidance to avoid critical human errors. The intuitive design uses familiar interaction patterns to minimise staff training time. Each step of the machine is transparently fed back to the user, helping them to better plan their next tasks in terms of time. The user interface is used for OEM purposes and can be customised to match the customer’s branding.
When you think of fast and reliable laboratory diagnostics, you may think of automation – but not necessarily of user experience. In an interview with MM Maschinenmarkt, our Head of Design, Aline Barré, explains why a well-designed UX can be a lifesaver.
