Our dear colleague and Lead Concept Designer Daniel has just returned from the AI in Medicine symposium organized by Health.AI – Intelligenter Gesundheitsraum Saar where he gained exciting insights into current developments at the interface of artificial intelligence and healthcare.
Practical insights into AI in healthcare
The symposium brought together experts from research and practice and focused on specific use cases. Examples of how AI already supports diagnostics, clinical processes, and medical decision-making were particularly relevant, but ethical issues were also discussed.
New ideas at the intersection of technology, design, and health
In addition to the presentations, the event offered valuable opportunities to exchange ideas with experts from the fields of medicine, science, and technology. The discussions provided new perspectives and important ideas, particularly for the design of understandable, trustworthy, and user-centered AI solutions in the healthcare sector.
About the organizer and location
The AI in Medicine symposium was organized by Health.AI Hub in collaboration with the Deutschen Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) (German Research Centerfor Artificial Intelligence),
Saarland University Hospital, and the Faculty of Medicine at Saarland University. The event was also supported by partners from science, healthcare, and industry.
The two-day conference took place on January 16 and 17, 2026, at the Homburg campus of Saarland University, a central location for medical and technological research in Saarland.
