Centigrade at the Digital Design & UX Next in Munich

April 16th, 2024

The Digital Design & UX Next conference is just around the corner. We will be there in Munich from 16 to 18 April 2024! Topics such as sustainability, AI and accessibility are becoming increasingly important from a design perspective – and that’s exactly what we want to talk about.

DDUX has been bringing UX enthusiasts together for years, offering valuable insights into the latest trends and best practices, as well as inspiring talks and interactive workshops from leading experts. We are also represented in the programme with topics such as Sustainable UX, Accessible Design and AI-Assisted Design.

Here is an extract from the programme:

“You don’t know your users” –
A playful user research workshop

Our interactive user research game puts you in the role of UX researcher and user. Your goal? To distinguish real user needs from possible misconceptions! Through the workshop and a lively discussion, you will learn how to transfer the methods used to promote user research in your own organisation.

And “promptly” everything was clear –
AI-supported design

AI tools such as ChatGPT or Midjourney have raised specific questions for digital design and UX research. Which prompts produce the best results, whether for brainstorming or dialogue writing? How do they have a lasting impact on the design process and professional image?
Our workshop will provide participants with concrete answers and practical tips, enriched by a combination of practical exercises and interactive sessions. Improve your skills in prompt engineering and refinement, guided by a + fictional scenario until a solution is found.

Advanced Accessibility –
User research as a compass for accessible design

In order to create an accessible and user-centred design, both accessibility guidelines and accessible user research must be taken into account. Alessandra Rodrigues Eismann will present her user research methods and results from the BMBF-funded research project BIGEKO (“Bidirectional Sign Language Communication via AI-based Translation of Text and Sign Language”).
The aim of the project is to develop an AI-based sign language translation system for the transmission of emergency calls, so that hearing and deaf people can communicate with each other without barriers in emergency situations.

Lean & Sustainable
Approaches to sustainable UX projects

Digital products mean that the use of resources is often just a click away. Whether it’s ordering, production or maintenance, UX design has simplified workflows. But shouldn’t UX design help to optimise resource use and minimise environmental impact? In this talk, we will give an insight into a research project that uses AI to navigate the complex interactions between requirements, environmental impacts, political regulations and user needs?

DDUX is a collaboration between dpunkt.verlag, maibornwolff GmbH and iX magazine. Here you will learn how product development, technology and design must go hand in hand to meet user expectations.
We look forward to many opportunities for dialogue and networking!
