How can you live a healthier life through games? What are gametypical UX elements? What types of players are there? And how do you take the healthcare sector to the next level with gamification? Thomas Immich asked these and other questions at the closing event of the Decisions2 lecture series organized by Game Dev Saar and provided exciting answers.
Live healthier with gamification
A playful gamification approach to a healthier lifestyle – this is what Thomas Immich talked about as the “end boss” of the lecture series on February 7, 2022, which was a collaboration between Saarland Medien, Game Dev Saar, the PopRat and the faculties of Saarland University.
Almost 150 interested people streamed the lecture live on Twitch. The students asked exciting questions about Centigrade’s work in gamification, user research and game testing – an area in which Centigrade can draw on exciting experience such as from the Need for Speed Rivals project.
More and more companies are using gamification as part of their UX strategy. In his presentation, Thomas Immich talks about the following topics based on exciting projects and experiences:

- Why it is important to know the player type of the target group
- Between under- and overload: the flow theory
